Openness: the intention behind the design

Aura | Boston, MA

Boston-based Aura needed a hub for their staff. Rather than return from the pandemic to the traditional office, the company opted instead to have a place where their remote staff could come and gather when they needed to work together. An informal space for informal meetings. With the backdrop of Boston’s Seaport, VCA wanted to utilize the ocean vistas to create a space where everyone could appreciate the wonderful views.

VCA decided to eschew walls in favor of glass partitions throughout the entirety of Aura’s space. By doing so, natural light flows throughout the office, allowing everyone equal access to the refreshing views. The light and ocean views, alongside the earthen-tone furniture and biophilic elements make this space feel very natural and relaxed. It’s a space that offers the comforts of home, though enhanced by the scenery.
